Management Accountant

You’ll be joining a well-established organisation based in Edgbaston, Birmingham, known for its strong team culture and commitment to delivering high-quality services within the social housing sector. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant who can hit the ground running and bring sector-specific knowledge from day one.

I’d love to hear from anyone with experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner, or Finance Analyst within social housing or a housing association. Please note, social housing experience is essential for this Management Accountant role.

In this position, you will be:

• Preparing monthly management accounts with clear and insightful commentary
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Delivering variance analysis and financial insights to stakeholders
• Managing accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
• Partnering with housing and operational teams to support financial performance
• Assisting with year-end or audit requirements where needed
• Identifying and implementing process improvements

I’d love to speak to any Management Accountant who has:

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant (essential)
• Previous experience within social housing or a housing association (essential)
• Strong knowledge of month-end processes
•  Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with finance systems (e.g. SUN, Civica, MRI)
• The ability to start quickly and work independently

This Management Accountant role is offering the following benefits:

• 6-month contract
• Day rate of £200 - £220 (depending on experience)
• Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
• Full-time hours (Monday – Friday)

Travel & location

This role is based in Edgbaston, Birmingham, with a hybrid working model. The office is easily accessible via public transport and major road links, making it convenient for candidates across Birmingham and surrounding areas.
