Step into a rewarding permanent opportunity with a leading social housing provider, offering a salary of up to £65,000, predominantly remote working, excellent benefits and the opportunity to take ownership of a key treasury function.
This is a senior, hands-on role requiring someone with strong treasury expertise and, essentially, direct experience within the social housing sector. The successful candidate must already understand how social housing operates and how factors such as development activity, shared ownership, sales receipts and future development pipelines feed into cash flow, liquidity and long-term business planning.
This is not a role for someone looking to step up into treasury or transition into social housing for the first time. You will need to be confident working independently and able to take ownership of the treasury function from day one.
In this role, you will:
Take ownership of the day-to-day treasury function, including daily cash management and weekly liquidity monitoring.
Build, maintain and manage short-, medium- and long-term cash-flow forecasts.
Work closely with Finance and Development teams to understand how current and future development activity impacts cash flow.
Incorporate committed and uncommitted development pipelines into cash-flow and liquidity forecasting.
Model the timing of development expenditure, property sales and other housing-related income.
Monitor liquidity and identify when additional funding or lender drawdowns may be required.
Manage and monitor debt facilities, loan repayments, interest and covenant compliance.
Support long-term business planning, scenario modelling and stress testing.
Maintain treasury records, reconciliations, bank mandates and authorised signatory controls.
Support security charging and asset-related funding requirements.
Build strong relationships with lenders, advisers and senior internal stakeholders.
Produce clear and accurate treasury, liquidity and funding reports for senior management and relevant Committees.
I’d love to speak to anyone who has:
Essential direct experience working within social housing, a Housing Association or Registered Provider.
Proven experience within a Treasury Accountant, Treasury Manager, Treasury Analyst or similar treasury-focused role.
Experience of building and managing cash-flow forecasts from the ground up.
Strong experience of daily and weekly liquidity management.
A clear understanding of how social housing development pipelines and development expenditure impact cash flow and future funding requirements.
Knowledge of key social housing financial drivers, including shared ownership, staircasing, Right to Buy, Right to Acquire and sales timing.
Experience forecasting both committed and uncommitted development expenditure.
Experience with debt facilities, loan drawdowns, interest, covenant compliance and funding requirements.
Experience contributing to business planning, scenario modelling and stress testing.
The ability to work independently and take ownership of a treasury function with minimal supervision.
Strong Excel, financial modelling and forecasting skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
This role is offering:
Permanent, full-time position
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary up to £65,000, depending on experience
Predominantly remote working
Attendance at the Peterborough office approximately one to two times per month
Excellent benefits package
The opportunity to take ownership of a key treasury function
A supportive and collaborative working environment
Location This role is predominantly remote, with attendance at the Peterborough office required approximately one to two times per month for team meetings and collaboration. Please note: Direct social housing experience is essential for this role. Due to the specialist nature of the position, candidates must already have an understanding of social housing terminology, development activity and how housing-sector financial drivers impact cash flow, liquidity and long-term business planning.
If you are an experienced Treasury Accountant or Treasury professional with a strong social housing background and are confident managing cash flow, liquidity, development forecasting, debt and funding requirements independently, please apply now or contact Olivia Taylor at olivia.taylor@niyaapeople.co.uk for a confidential discussion.
