We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Income Officer based around Worcester to join a Housing Association and be the key role to support tenancy sustainment, reduce arrears, and maximise income, working in close partnership with internal teams, external agencies and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities of an Income Officer:
Proactively monitor and manage the debt recovery process across all tenure types, ensuring arrears are minimised through early intervention.
Liaise effectively with Housing Benefit teams and the Department for Work and Pensions to ensure correct entitlements are received and over payments minimised.
Take appropriate and timely legal action where necessary, including serving notices, attending court, and coordinating with internal teams on evictions.
Provide financial inclusion support and advice to customers, signposting to external agencies and making referrals to internal Money Advisors to maximise income.
What we'd love to see from you:
Recent experience of working with debtors, ideally within a housing or related environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work sensitively with a diverse and often vulnerable customer base.
Good knowledge of welfare benefits, financial inclusion practices, and the legal framework for income recovery.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
