We're currently looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join a proactive and supportive housing team based in Cynon and Taff. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Housing Officer with a strong background in rent recovery and tenancy management who is ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a patch of general needs properties and act as the main point of contact for tenants
- Focus on rent recovery and arrears management, supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies
- Conduct tenancy sign-ups, viewings, property inspections, and well-being visits
- Handle a range of tenancy matters including ASB, safeguarding, and tenancy breaches
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using QL housing management systems
- Collaborate with internal teams and external support agencies to ensure positive outcomes for tenants
About You:
- Proven, direct experience working as a Housing Officer, ideally within general needs housing
- Strong understanding of rent recovery, tenancy law, and tenancy sustainment strategies
- Confident using QL or similar housing management systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage challenging conversations and caseloads
- A reliable and motivated Housing Officer who is able to start immediately and work independently
