We are actively looking for a Building Safety Officer to join a housing association based in the Birmingham are on a permanent basis. You will be supporting the building safety and compliance team primarily focusing on fire safety. In return you will receive, company van, fuel card and flexible working.
As the Building Safety Officer, you will be:
Supporting the health, safety and compliance work for the Building Safety and Compliance team.
Carrying out weekly testing of fire alarms, monthly testing of emergency lighting, general site inspections, fire door inspections, management of fire actions and other property related compliance duties.
Visiting a number of pre-arranged visits for blocks/schemes to complete regular inspections/tests within the common areas, post inspections and audits of completed works and resolving technical queries.
Mix of field-based work across specific portfolio of buildings and home working to complete write ups and admin tasks.
Experience and Qualifications
HNC or HND in Building Studies or equivalent
Experience of working with and knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) Order 2005
Experience working in a building safety or compliance for social housing provider
Experience working across fire safety and fire risk assessment programme
