Immediate Vacancy for a Development Officer for a Public Sector body in Worcester has arisen on permanent basis.

One extra day will be added for each full holiday year of service up to 5 additional days.
As Development Officer, you will assist in the delivery of new affordable homes which will involve managing a portfolio of development projects. This will include working in partnership with colleagues and other key stakeholders.
You will effectively manage small scale development schemes from inception to completion and work with the Development Manager to prepare feasibility/viability appraisals for Development Project Review Panel (DPRP) and/or Board approval.
You will also prepare and present reports on schemes to meet defined deadlines to the DPRP, Executive Team and/or Board, and negotiate and coordinate the purchase and/or disposal of land, property or premises, in line with the business development strategy.
As our Development Officer, you will have excellent attention to detail and experience of taking complex or difficult data and presenting it in an understandable format.
To identify sources of funding to support new housing development and acquisition
Work predominantly on pre contract works, overseeing planning applications and on site legalities
Development Officer requirements:
The ability to multi-task, including prioritising a dynamic and diverse workload, and be able to think ahead and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
IT literate and with a strong customer focus, you will have excellent negotiation and presentation skills and have previously been involved in devising and successfully implementing new initiatives.
Experience of the affordable housing sector and/or new build housing development is desirable, as is proven project management experience.
Experience working in a social/affordable housing environment.
Project planning skills.
At least 2 years direct, hands-on experience of dealing with social/affordable housing development issues.
