Right from the offset, this company pride themselves on appearance, results and quality. They are renowned for their creative designs and building projects within the construction industry and are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager that has brought on new contracts within the Higher Education sectors. Although this is a business development role, a large proportion of this will be managing existing accounts.

Reporting into the Managing Director, your main focus is to build new relationships with director of estates in the higher education sector along with local authorities.


• Implement a business development strategy to be aligned with the company wide business plan
• Contacting new and existing contacts within the education sector in the West Midlands region
• Create sales presentations and deliver a creative brief to internal estimators, project managers, commercial staff and MD.
• Report on pipeline and business development activities in board meetings
• Identify, track and convert leads that achieve profit requirements
• Fully engage with new and existing clients to become their personal account manager, taking details on new leads, contacts or leavers within the business remit.
• Be involved and assist with the bids for framework opportunities
• Attend networking events to promote the company brand and increase brand awareness

Ideally you will have:

• Previous business development in high education
• Experience of local authority specifically with tendering and frameworks.
• Knowledge of the construction industry bringing with you a solid network of contacts
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to identify new opportunities and pick up on new leads to generate profit
• A personable approach that can create and build relationships with key decision makers
• Dedication, perseverance and tenacity
